How did you decide what counts as an “obscure” fic?The definition of an obscure fic varies from fandom to fandom, pairing to pairing. To minimize the chance for our personal opinions and biases to play a factor, we knew we needed a set measure for falls under obscure!For a ship as beloved as BKDKBK, we have extensively reviewed the Archive of Our Own tags, our reading history and widely loved BKDKBK works. While there is no perfect answer, we found that 10k and 5k encompassed many oneshots and multichaps, respectively, that did not have a large following.Can we share our own fics?Yes, absolutely! So long as the fic meets our guidelines, we share all submissions submitted to Obscure BKDKBK.What if the fic surpasses the hits limit? Will you remove the rec?So long as the fic meets our guidelines at the time of posting, we will share it on Obscure BKDKBK! We will not be removing fics once they surpass the hit limits for the sake of time, as we do not have the time to continually monitor the fics shared with us. We want to celebrate and spotlight obscure fics — and if a fic becomes less obscure after it’s been posted on Obscure BKDKBK, that’s fantastic! We’re honored to have played even a small part in sharing the love in this corner of the fandom.

Do ship dynamics (e.g. top/bottom) play a role in what is shared?Definitely not. We welcome all BKDKBK dynamics, including BkDk, DkBk and switch dynamics. Our goal is to share recommendations decided for the people, by the people. So long as the fic meets our guidelines, we share all submissions submitted to Obscure BKDKBK!Do sexualities/gender identities (e.g. gay/bisexual/asexual/trans) play a role in what is shared?Not even a little bit. We welcome all interpretations of the Wonder Duo, and do not discriminate based on sexuality and/or gender identities. So long as the fic meets our guidelines, we share all submissions submitted to Obscure BKDKBK!What if the endgame ship is not BKDKBK?As stated in our guidelines, we ask that all fics focus on the BKDKBK relationship. If the fic is romantic, we ask that the endgame ship is BKDKBK! However, we accept platonic BKDKBK fics as well, so long as the fic’s primary focus is on their friendship.
